Backyard Renovation

As you all know and heard me say many times before, my husband and I bought our home back in 2017 and haven’t stopped messing with it. We like to do little projects here and there, but there was one major project that needed to be done… The backyard. This was a hard one, full of surprises and it took over 6 months to become the perfect place we wanted to have at our home.

We actually worked on it a little bit but it wasn’t the backyard we wanted so we decided to change it all. Well, almost all of it.

We had 18 palm trees when we moved here, several of them were not doing well so they had to be removed. The issue is that some of the larger plants and trees had strong large roots and those roots were damaging the floor, so we had to do the entire backyard. Let me show you what it looked like before we started to work on it.

I know some people are going to say that it looked great before already. Yes it did, I have to agree but we had way too many issues with the trees and that kitchen was not functional at all. We never actually used it, so we took the kitchen down ourselves and it was a lot of work. It was solid cement and we ended up needing help from Home Depot. We rented real tools, and my husband dad helped a lot.

The rest was done by a company in Arizona who added stones, turf and some other details. I think they did a great job. Let me know if you like the blue decor and details we added at the end. Cheers!

We got the pergola from Amazon (visit the storefront) and we got some of the furniture from Walmart – Better homes and garden. Lots of the accessories were from Amazon and Target. I will try to post some more renovations soon, stay tuned!

Xoxo, Cam!

Playroom Renovation

As you are aware, my husband and I bought our home back in 2017 and slowly, we renovated every room of this house. It’s been a lot of work but it’s so much fun to see the progress. We had our daughter late 2019 and as her Easter present, we gave her a playroom with some chocolate eggs and some fun baby toys. I love this room because she loves it too and uses it every day, especially the chalk wall. Epic!

This was our starting point. You will see these “before” pictures and agree that the room needed a makeover.

We painted the wall using chalk and we had a tv installed, some wood pictures made by a local company in Arizona called Craft from Seed. We got the furniture pieces from Ikea and containers from Amazon (along with a bunch of toys and accessories). The baby rubber mat is from a store called SoftTiles Safari animals and you can buy a lot of pieces and make it as big or small as you wish.  The little white buckets are from Ikea and they still have it now but it’s actually all in black and silver. They change the colors from time to time.

Lots of love involved and VOILA! I hope you like this before and after project. We love this little cute room!

I will try to show you guys a little bit more of the house and the small changes and makeover projects we like to do. Stay tuned!

Garage Renovation

Welcome to our garage. Our house has a 3 car garage but it is a tandem garage, so the front of the house looks like a two car garage but it fits three. My husband decided to make some changes and organize it in a way he could use it as a studio and other things. Here are some pictures of the garage before we updated it.

We got our tiles online and I have a post on the page “Shop”, with all the details about the tiles but it’s basically a puzzle and you get to snap the pieces together, it’s water proof and you can easily clean the floor under too since there are holes in the tiles.

Here are the details: Garage details

And here are the final results and before and after pictures! Enjoy!

Next, I will show a little bit of our renovation of the playroom! Stay tuned!

She’s a big girl now!

Aspen is now a little over 2 years old and we realized that she’s a big girl and needed her own bed. It was time for a bedroom refresh and new furniture for a little girl  with a lot of attitude and personality. We actually took her to Home Depot and let her help with the entire process. She was present during every step of putting her new room together and she loves it!

This was her nursery…

Although I love how cute that was, It was time for some major changes, so we removed the stripped walls and changed all the furniture. She loves pastel tones rainbows and so do we. I got a lot of the decor pieces from Home Goods, Wayfair, Amazon and Target.

This Wayfair bed is perfect. It’s called Full Bed with Trundle Brown Burlap by Red Barrel Studio.

As I mentioned, little one got involved in every step of the day and we all had so much fun getting her room remodeled.

Here is the final results and we love it!

Soon I will post the gym and the garage changes! Stay tuned!

Wood Shelves Renovation

This one is a fun one and I take a lot of pride because I did it by myself… Well, almost. I’ll explain…

My kitchen was looking nice and beautiful after I installed all the backsplash but the wall around the window was a bit too blend and boring for me, so I decided to get some shelves. After I found a pair online for $322, I decided to create them myself.

As you can see in the “before” photo, It wasn’t bad but it needed some love. I went to Home Depot and I bought a 12x12x16 wood board, I gave them the size I need and they cut it for me.

Found 36” floating shelves online selling for $322 (set of 2). Well, I decided to make them myself instead! Went to @homedepot, got a 12x2x16 board for $46 and I got 6 shelves out of it. Home Depot cut them perfectly for me, for free. I then sanded and pre stained it with a wood conditioner from @varathane. Then I stained with a wood finish from @minwaxusa (color: special walnut 224). I then quickly finished with sandpaper to make them smooth and finalized the process with a polyurethane wood finish. It looks like a lot of work but it’s very easy and worth the time!

VOILA! Here is the final results and I love these so much. It made the room a bit more complete!

The decoration pieces should be listed on my Amazon storefront and my LTK account, feel free to check it out. Most of these decor pieces are from Amazon, Target and Walmart – the collection is called Better Homes and Garden.

I cannot wait to redecorate these with Pumpkins for Fall and other Holiday Season items. Stay tuned, soon I will be sharing my little girl’s bedroom make over. Next!

Second Bathroom Renovation

As you all know, my husband and I live in a home in Arizona. We purchased the home back in 2017 and the home needed some love and remodeling. We have 3 full bathrooms and this was the last one to be renovated. This is also a Jack and Jill bathroom which means it can be used by two different bedrooms, so we wanted it to be nice. We also carefully built this bathroom because it is used by my daughter so we wanted to make sure the shower glass was safe. Take a look at the before and after and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Please excuse the mess, there’s a toddler using this bathroom and a crazy busy mom and dad working two jobs and trying to maintain our sanity. I’m sure the new one will look a lot better and organized. Hehe.

This bathroom was not functioning properly so once again, we had to remove everything and start from scratch, this time, we removed everything, lights, tub, walls, floor, vanity and all. It was worth the hard work, we love it and so does baby girl!

VOILA!!!
